How to use the Ayewa website

Hummingbird

Ayewa provides searchable, categorized listings of climate change resources and information.

Search for listings

You can find listings (and other pages in our site) using the search bar at the top of every page. So far, our search functionality is basic. It only finds items that include your search text in the title of the listing or page. Full-text and advanced search features are coming soon.

Browse by category

We divide our listings into categories to make it a little easier to find what you're looking for, we hope.

You can go to any of the four category listing pages via menus at the top and bottom of each page, or by clicking or tapping one of the items below the search area on the home page.

Three of the four categories are for specific resources, such as organizations, projects, books, websites, and laws. Listings of resources always include a website address or other contact information. The fourth category, Solutions, is for the concepts behind the resources.

The categories are:

  • Action: Organizations and projects that are responding to climate change.
  • Solutions: A special category for background information on the approaches we can use to deal with climate change.
  • Science: Websites and publications that publish, summarize, and analyze climate data, and that provide evidence-based forecasts for climate and the effects of climate on our lives.
  • Other resources: This is a catch-all category for resources that of all other types, such as news, analysis, and opinion, model regulations and laws, instructional materials, and relevant products.

➤ More about the Solutions category: Solutions are practical, science-based ideas for steps we can take to stabilize the earth's climate and make it safe again for living things. But "solutions" are approaches that could solve climate change problems, not the specific actions being taken to implement those approaches. On Ayewa, solutions are organized into nested hierarchies based on how specific they are. For example, "Using less fossil fuel" is a very high-level, broad solution, whereas "Walking to work" is a specific approach to reducing the use of fossil fuel. (A particular campaign to encourage people to walk to work would be categorized as an Action in Ayewa.)

Filtering listings

When you're viewing search results or browsing category listings you can filter the listings to see only the items that match filters you set. Filter controls are located at the left (desktop) or top (mobile) of each listings page.
